CRICKET KIT AND PRACTICE NET FOR BAL ASHRAM BOYS

Our Trustee, Angana Maheshwari, started a fundraiser for her birthday in 2019 for 70 boys at the Bal Ashram, part of the Kailash Satyarthi's Children Foundation.

Kailash Satyarthi is a Nobel Peace Laureate. He won the award in 2014 for his dedication to eradicating child slavery globally. He has rescued around 88,000 children from various forms of child labour and child sex trafficking, and he isn’t stopping his mission anytime soon. To find out more about his work, please visit www.satyarthi.org.in.

After spending 5 weeks in Viratnagar, Rajasthan, Angana decided to do some fundraising for the boys at Bal Ashram. Every day from 5-6 pm the boys would play an hour of cricket. Their love for cricket is like no other!

Angana raised over $3000 so that the boys can enhance their physical abilities with new sports equipment.

Thank you to everyone who donated to this cause back in 2019 for her fundraiser. Due to COVID-19, there were many delays in procuring items to donate to the boys, but we are happy to share that all 70 boys at the Bal Ashram have now received the following items:

  • A personalised National Indian team Cricket Kit which includes new training shoes

  • personalised steel water bottle

  • and a professional cricket net to practice the game.

The cricket net has been installed on Bal Ashram's grounds.

Angana is grateful to everyone who donated for this cause - it truly means the world to her and the boys!
