WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DO
Maheshwari Foundation was founded and registered in India in March 2010 and in the UK in 2011. Driven by the ethos to put a dent on illiteracy, hunger and deprivation, the Foundation aims at contributing meaningfully for the upliftment of the society through initiatives that empower and improve the lives of the disadvantaged.
The Foundation believes it is not solely the responsibility of multilateral agencies, large corporates or communities to improve the living conditions across the world. Every individual can make a contribution and it is incumbent upon each one of us who enjoys the license to live in this world to make our own little contribution.
The outcome envisioned by the Foundation is to support the people with the right tools that enable them to discover their inner strength and confidence to find their place in the society.
Maheshwari Foundation has pledged a sum of minimum ₹10 crores towards its objectives.

Why zero?
Zero is probably the most profound word ever coined. It has so many dimensions that it is almost impossible to comprehend its importance and usefulness in the evolution of mankind. Zero fulfils a central role in mathematics. It has a position of influence in Science, including Computer Science. Zero’s origin is far and wide and one can trace its association from Egypt to Mesopotamia, from India to China, from the Islamic world to the Greeks and Romans and from medieval Europe to Americas. The word zero came from different words in different customs or countries; each one of them meaning ‘empty’ or ‘nothing’.
In the modern era, zero has started being used in a very different context. Some examples are ‘zero’ harm, ‘zero’ tolerance, ‘journey to zero’ etc.
